Can you use speech to text software for the French language?

My grandma is French and types like 3 words per minute, so I told her about speech to text software, and she needs it for French. She doesn't know what it would be called. So does anyone know what speech to text is called in French? And if I went to, say Best Buy, and bought one of there speech to text disks, could she speak French with it?

1. Um I think you're more likely to find spanish than french but you could probably order it...call some places and see if it is possible...
